1. On page 54 Parvana struggles with whether or not to enter the shop. Why is Parvana not sure what to do?

Parvana is not sure whether she should enter the shop or not because she is not fully considered a woman so maybe she could go inside and order but, she could also get in trouble for going inside because she is a female after all .

2. How does having Mrs. Weera around change things for the family. Use evidence from the text to support your answer.

Having Mrs.Weera around the family has made Parvana's mother's spirit better because she finally has someone who can help her run the house. Having to loose her husband has made Mrs.Fatima really sad because no one is there to help her take care of her 4 children.When Mrs.Weera was there to help, she kept the families mood up .( Page 56-62)

3. Why is Parvana so upset about getting her hair cut?

Parvana is so upset about cutting her hair because her older sister Nooria doesn't have to cut hers and Nooria is the oldest. But, Nooria has already grown her body and after all, it will make it easier for Parvana to do her chores by being a boy.

4. Parvana has to change her gender in order to support her family. She is hesitant at first, but then accepts that she must do this. How would you feel in her position?

I would do what Parvana did in the story, accept to change genders for her family. I would still have to do my chores outside and if I was in Parvana's life , I would feel worried that the Taliban soldiers would do something. So, to make my own life easier, I would change genders.
